The Edmonton International Jazz Festival takes place during July every year, featuring artists from Edmonton, Canada and all over the world. Each year, we’re challenged with including unique imagery from many different musicians who have provided their own photography into a common creative. It’s important for us to tie everything together in a way that feels like it belongs to the festival, and still make them all feel like a part of the same family of print and online pieces.
The work we did this past summer had a strong emphasis on colour as a design element. We relied on a brightly contrasting colour palette, with bold, geometric typography. The work is eye catching, inviting, and fun — like the festival it was designed for.
