RAHF School of Nursing

We are pleased to share a unique project we developed for the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation. This is a direct mail campaign targeted to the alumni of the RAHF School of Nursing. For the creation of these pieces, we were given access to the nursing photo and yearbook archive.

We found amazing photos of nurses who studied in the school, hand written notes, medical textbooks, yearbooks, certificates with hand made calligraphy… really it was like a gold mine for designers who like old things. In an industry with whirlwind projects and aggressive deadlines, we often have to rely on stock photography to communicate within a design. The images we were able to use for this project are real graduates of the program, which truly gives the design more meaning.

This project has further evolved into a design research grant for the Edmonton Heritage Council. The funds will be used to research, document and share Edmonton vintage advertising campaigns online. Thank you to the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation for collaborating with us on this project!
